The patient who just had her gallbladder removed by laparoscopic surgery by doctors at Hospital 115 Nghe An is Ms. Nguyen Thi Toan (born in 1967, residing in Quynh Giang commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An).
Ms. Toan had been suffering from pain in the upper right abdomen for a long time, many times a day, and was diagnosed with gallstones by the doctors, who recommended surgery. However, Ms. T. did not go to the hospital for surgery, which led to prolonged pain. On April 6, due to severe pain that lasted for a long time and could no longer be tolerated, Ms. Toan was admitted to the hospital for surgery.

Doctor Hoang Canh Tung - Deputy Head of Surgery Department, Nghe An 115 Hospital said: The surgical team of 7 people successfully performed surgery on this 50-year-old female patient yesterday afternoon (April 7).
The patient's gallbladder was full of stones, we had to remove some of the stones, open another hole to be able to cut and remove the entire gallbladder. The gallbladder was examined and there were many stones, almost 1,000. This is the surgery to remove the most stones in a gallbladder we have ever performed./.
Gallbladder stones mainly attack women. Gallbladder stones are formed when there is sedimentation and aggregation of components in bile, ranging in size from a few mm to a few cm. Gallbladder stones are a common disease in our country, accounting for about 8 - 10% of the population. Most people with precipitated gallbladder stones do not know it. Gallstones often have no obvious symptoms. Some early signs you may experience include bloating, indigestion, nausea, loss of appetite, heartburn, etc. The most severe pain symptoms appear when the stones block the gallbladder duct. The pain usually appears in the middle or right upper abdomen, just below the ribs - the pain increases for about 60 minutes and can be maintained, gradually decreasing over the next few hours. Gallstones can also cause serious complications such as acute cholecystitis, cholangitis, and acute pancreatitis. Currently, in the world, laparoscopic cholecystectomy is considered the only method of choice in the surgical treatment of gallstones. To prevent disease, every day, each person needs to eat three balanced meals; maintain weight not exceeding the standard for their age; regularly exercise (walk) for at least 30 minutes/day. |
