Nghe An: Nearly 1,900 students drop out of school

(Baonghean) - Despite propaganda and many solutions to limit the situation of students dropping out of school, statistics show that the number of students dropping out of school in the province is still high with nearly 1,900 students.

This is the number that the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province has collected for the 2015-2016 school year. Accordingly, the whole province had 1,852 students drop out of school last school year. Of which, the highest number was in secondary school with 1,096 students. The second highest number was in high school with 721 students. There were 35 students in primary school.

The number of students dropping out of school this year is nearly 300 higher than the previous school year. Notably, while in previous years students dropped out mainly in coastal and mountainous areas, now the number of students in urban and rural areas tends to increase. Currently, in Vinh city, schools with a large number of students dropping out of school include: Nguyen Truong To High School (Vinh city) with 22 students; VTC High School and Nguyen Hue High School with 24 students. In Quynh Luu district, Cu Chinh Lan High School has 16 students; Nguyen Duc Mau High School has 16 students; Bac Quynh Luu High School has 14 students. In Dien Chau district, the total number of students dropping out of Ngo Tri Hoa and Nguyen Du High Schools is 30 students...

In Tuong Duong district, the whole district has 144 students dropping out of school. The highest number is Tuong Duong 1 High School with 90 students, Tuong Duong 2 with 24 students, and secondary schools with 30 students.
