Nghe An: Nearly 48 billion VND has gone to the poor on Tet holiday

(Baonghean.vn)- On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2017, 303 groups and individuals inside and outside the province donated 47,789,854,800 VND to the poor.

The Fatherland Front of Nghe An province said that in response to the Appeal Letter to support the poor to celebrate Dinh Dau New Year of Nghe An Provincial Party Secretary and Plan No. 779/KH-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee on organizing the program "Tet for the poor - Dinh Dau" up to February 9, 2017, 303 organizations and individuals have directly and indirectly supported with a total amount of 47,789,854,800 VND (reaching 107% of the registration).

There are 84,014 households including 72,280 poor households (90.11%), 11,734 near-poor households, policy families and people with disabilities, orphans, medical examination and treatment; giving cows, production materials to Western communes under the 30a program... receiving gifts with an average value of 500,000 VND/gift on the occasion of Tet.

Some localities have an average of 700,000 VND/gift or more such as: Vinh City, Cua Lo Town, Hoang Mai Town, Thai Hoa Town, Quynh Luu... However, in the mountainous districts 30a, the rate of poor households receiving gifts is still low; in some places, the average gift receiving level has not reached 500,000 VND/gift.

There are 15 districts, cities and towns that have organized gift giving for 100% of poor households on the occasion of Dinh Dau Tet 2017.
