The Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union directed all levels of the Youth Union to mobilize nearly 5,000 union members and young people, including volunteer youth from agencies, enterprises, and armed forces, to coordinate with local volunteer youth forces, review and grasp the actual situation in the locality, and participate in activities to overcome the consequences of storm No. 4 and floods.
Specifically, the Con Cuong, Quy Hop, Tan Ky, Quy Chau, Tuong Duong, Thai Hoa, Ky Son District Youth Unions... mobilized cadres, union members, and youth volunteers along with other forces to transport and evacuate people and their property to safe places, helping hundreds of affected families clean up the site...
The Youth Union at all levels also stepped up propaganda to prevent people from fishing or collecting firewood along the banks of streams during heavy rains; coordinated with functional forces to proactively respond to floods and storms, and evacuate people and property from areas at risk of flash floods and landslides.
In the coming time, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee will continue to direct all levels of the Youth Union in the whole province to continue promoting volunteer movements with practical and specific actions to help people overcome the consequences of floods; maintain and develop youth volunteer teams ready to promptly respond, prevent, combat and overcome the consequences caused by natural disasters and floods.
