Nghe An meets online with Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Korea to promote exports

(Baonghean.vn) - In order to promote export promotion activities, on the morning of June 1, the Department of Industry and Trade organized an online conference "Meeting with the Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Korea with Nghe An import and export enterprises".

Comrade Pham Van Hoa - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade chaired at Nghe An bridge, also attended by representatives of VCCI, business associations and representatives of import and export enterprises in the province.

Attending at the Korean end was Mr. Pham Khac Tuyen - Head of the Trade Office, Embassy of Vietnam in Korea.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Pham Van Hoa said that Korea has been one of the important and potential markets for Nghe An's export enterprises for many years.

The signing of the agreement by the two countriesASEAN-Korea Free Trade Agreementas well as the Vietnam - Korea Bilateral Trade Agreement has expanded the legal framework for trade activities between the business communities of the two sides, creating conditions for Vietnamese goods in general and Nghe An goods in particular to promote their competitive advantages in the Korean market.

According to statistics, totalimport and export turnoverTwo-way trade in 2021 between Nghe An and South Korea reached 452 million USD, an increase of 45% compared to 2020. Of which, export turnover reached 246.1 million USD, accounting for 11.65% of the province's total export turnover of goods, ranking 3rd after the Chinese and Hong Kong markets.

Up to now, Nghe An province has had more than 54 enterprises participating in exporting to the Korean market with 8 main groups of products, including: Textiles, electronic components, electric wires and cables, textile materials, footwear, various stone products, packaging, processed fruits, pine resin and pine resin. The current demand for connection with Korea focuses on the province's strengths such as: agriculture, seafood, various stones, construction materials, etc.

At the conference, Mr. Pham Khac Tuyen - Head of the Trade Office, Embassy of Vietnam in Korea informed businesses about the Korean market; shared notes when exporting and importing to the Korean market. Businesses had the opportunity to exchange and discuss with the Counselor about difficulties and obstacles in the export and import process as well as opportunities for connection in the coming time.

With the aim of supporting businesses, Head of Trade Office,Embassy of Vietnam in Koreaupdated the latest information about the Korean market regarding legal regulations, market demand, technical barriers, etc.; answered and supported businesses to resolve some difficulties and problems when exporting and importing to the Korean market; at the same time, sought solutions to effectively implement export promotion activities for some specific products of the province to the Korean market in the coming time.
