Nghe An holds a meeting at the beginning of the year with agencies and units of the transport sector.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 6, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to mark the beginning of Spring 2017 with central and local agencies and units of the Transport sector located in Nghe An province. Attending were comrades: Le Hong Vinh - Member of the Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In 2016, transport infrastructure was identified as one of the 5 breakthroughs along with 3 key economic zones to create a breakthrough, rapid and sustainable development of the province. The output of investment in construction of transport works invested by the Department is estimated at 1,100 billion VND.

During the year, many road projects were completed and put into operation, which were highlights of infrastructure investment such as Hoang Mai - Thai Hoa route, Yen Xuan bridge, N5 road, etc. Transport of goods, passengers, and aviation had a growth rate of over 25%, opening an international flight route Vinh - Bangkok. Regarding maritime, investments were made in building Terminal 5 - Cua Lo port, Nghi Thiet port, petroleum port, etc.

At the meeting, on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, highly appreciated the contributions of the agencies and units of the transport sector, which greatly contributed to promoting the socio-economic development of Nghe An province.

Through this meeting, Nghe An province hopes that the Central Transport agencies and units located in the area will continue to pay more attention to the investment and management of transport infrastructure. 2017 is the pivotal year for completing the congress's targets, the tasks are very heavy. In the general difficult conditions, resources for projects are limited, therefore, it is hoped that the units with their strengths will attract more investment projects in basic construction and repair and upgrade, continue to create strong changes in the management of the quality of transport works...

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also hopes that the units will continue to have breakthrough solutions, review plans, projects, and policies on transport development in accordance with the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels and the Program and plan to implement Resolution 26/NQ-TW of the Politburo in the new situation. Focus on directing the acceleration of construction progress, early completion, handover and use of key projects./.
