(Baonghean.vn) - Today, May 4, 12th graders officially registered to take the 2023 high school graduation exam. In Nghe An, on the first day, students registered many wishes to increase their chances of admission; schools provided timely support to students during the registration process to avoid errors.
Candidates can register for multiple wishes.
Previously, according to the regulations ofHigh school graduation examIn 2023, from May 4 to 5:00 p.m. on May 13, candidates taking the 2023 high school graduation exam nationwide will begin registering for the exam. To register for the exam, candidates log in to the exam management system. Each candidate will be given an account and password by the school. The candidate's account is the citizen identification number or identity card. In case there is no citizen identification card, the candidate's account is the personal identification number issued by the police.
One of the recommendations of the Ministry of Education and Training is that before officially registering for the exam, candidates need to carefully read the sections and instructions for filling out the exam registration form issued by the Ministry. If there are any unclear points, they must ask the registration reception staff for full instructions, to avoid unnecessary mistakes.

At Cua Lo High School, this school year the school has 10 classes with more than 400 12th graders. Before the official registration day, the school's students had 10 days to try registering and get used to logging in, changing passwords and were guided by the school through the registration steps according to regulations. However, since there are nearly 10 days left until the end of registration, on the first day, students are still continuing to consult and consider their wishes. Many candidates said they will wait until the last day to officially register.
After a period of research, many candidates also said that one of the most difficult things about registration is choosing the right choice. Student Hoang Thi Thanh Nhung, class 12A11.2, said: I plan to register 9 choices, including 5 choices for different majors at the Academy of Finance. In addition, I will prioritize schools in the pedagogical block of Mathematics Pedagogy.

Student Nguyen Thi Khanh Huyen, class 12A1.1, has an IELTS certificate of 7.5, third prize in the provincial English proficiency exam, and an excellent academic record. Although she has had many opportunities for direct admission, to increase her chances of admission, Huyen also plans to apply for many options: She will apply to all schools in the North, Central, and South to ensure admission to university. However, she prioritizes her first option to the National Economics University, which will be based on both a foreign language certificate and the score of the graduation exam.
Through research, the number of students registering for several wishes is quite small. For example, student Che Hoang Hai (Cua Lo High School) plans to register for two wishes to enter the university or intermediate level of the People's Police Academy. However, before officially registering, Hai is asking for a copy of his academic records and checking the results of his health examination to see if he meets the requirements to pass the preliminary round. This male student also said: The People's Police Academy has a fairly high entrance fee and few quotas, so I am quite worried. I think if I pass the preliminary round, I will have to try harder to have a better chance of being admitted.

Along with registering their wishes, candidates will also register for combined exams to be considered for high school graduation recognition. However, according to teacher Dang Cong Huan - Vice Principal of Cua Lo High School, registering for subject combinations does not "make it difficult" for candidates because they have been oriented and have early choices to plan their review: Our school has 407 12th grade students but only 122 students registered for the Natural Science subject combination, the rest registered for the Social Science subject combination. There are about 300 students registering for university admission, the rest registered for graduation.
Reserve multiple admission options
Along with registering for the high school graduation exam, many candidates are also starting to request copies of their transcripts to apply for direct admission to universities. For example, at Cua Lo 1 High School, more than 100 students have requested copies of their transcripts in the past 2 weeks. For some other students, registering for the graduation exam is no longer too stressful because they have used additional criteria such as direct admission based on foreign language certificates, taking the results of the competency assessment test or direct admission based on the results of their transcripts.

When registering for the exam, candidates must declare to ensure accurate information about the province, city, high school code... according to regulations. After the registration deadline, candidates are not allowed to change the information about the exam or subject they have registered. The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place from June 27 to 30. The exam results are expected to be announced on July 18.
In preparation for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam, as planned on May 6 and 7, the Department of Education and Training will organize a quality survey combined with a mock exam for 12th grade students.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training, Chairman of the Survey Council said: This is an important exam to assess the current situation and orient the adjustment of students' learning activities. At the same time, it helps teachers of schools have the necessary information to improve the content, methods, and forms of teaching organization that teachers are conducting, and to adjust teaching activities appropriately and effectively. In particular, through this exam, students can practice test-taking skills similar to the high school graduation exam, self-assess their own abilities to supplement necessary knowledge, choose appropriate subjects and exam groups, and orient their future careers.
