Nghe An: Car wash prices triple on days before Tet
(Baonghean.vn) - Car wash services during Tet are always overloaded due to high demand from people. Many car washes have to mobilize more family members and workers to help complete cars in time for customers to enjoy Tet and Spring.
On the 29th of Tet, almost all service prices in Nghe An increased. Among them, car wash services doubled, and in some places even tripled compared to normal days.

Mr. Nguyen Van Minh, owner of a car wash shop in Dien Chau town, shared: "Every year, when Tet comes, the whole family has to wake up early to prepare tools and mix car wash solution because the number of customers increases many times compared to normal days. Like today (29th of Tet), before we had time to eat breakfast, someone called to wash the car, so we had to do it right away...".
Mr. Minh said that on average, his shop washes about 10 motorbikes and 3-4 cars of all kinds every day. However, from the 25th of Tet onwards, the shop washes about 30 motorbikes and over 10 cars every day, working without any breaks.
Car washes in Vinh City are in a similar situation. To meet the needs of customers while labor is scarce during Tet, shop owners must have incentives to encourage employees to stay at work even though Tet is near.
Mr. Le Duc Hung, owner of a car wash shop in Vinh City, shared: "My shop has 5 employees, the children are mainly from Thanh Chuong and Tan Ky districts... everyone wants to go home early, but Tet is the busiest time of the year for the shop, so I have to promise to pay double to keep the employees...".

According to a survey by Nghe An Newspaper, car wash prices are currently increasing. Cars have increased from 50,000 VND to 100,000 - 150,000 VND/cycle. Motorbikes, which normally range from 15,000 - 20,000 VND/cycle, have increased to 30,000 VND/cycle these days. Despite the price increase, according to observations, car washes are never empty of customers.
Due to the sudden increase in the number of cars, along with the increase in service prices, many establishments and garages earn tens of millions of VND/day from car washing during Tet. Revenue increases 3-4 times compared to normal days, so it is considered a "business season" for households providing this service.
In addition, each employee also has an income of 1 - 2 million VND/day, higher than usual. In particular, employees who are hard-working, enthusiastic, and satisfy customers will also receive additional rewards from the owner.
