Nghe An reduces 90% of unlicensed medical and pharmaceutical establishments

In 2018, Nghe An health sector was proactive in implementing health education communication, guiding people on prevention and monitoring, so that no major and dangerous epidemics occurred. The sector achieved and exceeded all key targets set such as Population - family planning, reproductive health care, HIV/AIDS prevention, tuberculosis, malaria...
Medical examination, treatment and rehabilitation work continues to be maintained and developed. There are many new techniques to take care of people's health, such as: kidney transplant, heart surgery, cranial nerve surgery, specialized surgeries in specialties...
Management of non-public medical and pharmaceutical practices has been actively and synchronously strengthened, bringing about high efficiency. The number of unlicensed establishments has decreased by 90% (from 685 to 76).

The health sector continues to approve the plan for autonomy and self-responsibility for performing tasks, organizing apparatus, personnel and finance for 7 units; increasing the total number of units implementing 100% financial autonomy in the sector to 15 units; transferring 4,304 staffing targets from the form of budget ensuring funds for salary and allowance payment to the form of self-guaranteed payment by the unit.

In 2019, Nghe An health sector set the following goals: To build and perfect Nghe An province's health system synchronously from the province to the grassroots, gradually modernizing to ensure that all people enjoy primary health care services, expand access and use of quality health services; People live in a safe community, develop well physically and mentally; Reduce the rate of disease and disability, improve physical strength, increase life expectancy, improve population quality, contribute to the socio-economic development of the province.

Speaking at the conference, comrade Le Minh Thong praised the results of Nghe An health sector in 2018: The efforts of the health sector are very commendable, having successfully completed the task of protecting, caring for and improving people's health.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: In addition to the achieved results, Nghe An's health sector still has some shortcomings such as poor patient service attitude of a number of doctors and nurses; low quality of medical examination and treatment at some medical facilities; unlicensed medical facilities have not been completely resolved...

Comrade Le Minh Thong suggested: In 2019, the health sector needs to focus on preventing dangerous epidemics; strengthen propaganda and education to raise awareness of disease prevention and health care for the people; develop medical examination and treatment techniques in both breadth and depth; ensure that autonomous units comply with the legal framework; prioritize facilities and equipment to improve the quality of grassroots health care.
