Nghe An: Teacher borrowed more than 2 billion VND from people and then 'disappeared'
(Baonghean.vn) - 19 households in Thong Thu commune (Que Phong) wrote a petition to the district police stating that they had lent Ms. Lo Thi Dao more than 2 billion VND, but she has now "disappeared".
Mr. Quang Van Thanh - Chief of Thong Thu Commune Police (Que Phong) said that 19 households in the commune have invited Ms. Lo Thi Dao, who used to work at Thong Thu 2 Primary School, to the District Police to give her statement.
Previously, on November 29, these households signed a petition sent to Que Phong District Police, People's Committee, and Thong Thu Commune Police stating that they had lent money to Ms. Lo Thi Dao, who had worked for many years at Thong Thu 1 Primary School and Thong Thu 2 Primary School.

When the debt payment deadline came, many times these households came to the school and to Ms. Dao's house in Block 1, Kim Son town (Que Phong) to collect the debt, but Ms. Dao kept delaying. At that time, everyone knew that Ms. Dao borrowed from many people in Thong Thu commune. Also according to the petition of the people, in January 2017, Ms. Lo Thi Dao retired and has been missing since then.
"According to the list of people who lent money to Ms. Dao, there are 19 people, with a total amount of 2,050 billion VND. The person who lent the most was 200 million VND, the person who lent the least was 18 million VND. However, according to the information we have, there is another household that lent money to Ms. Dao but has not reported it to the commune police," said Mr. Thanh.
According to the Chief of Thong Thu Commune Police, the money that people lent her was compensation and support money after giving up land for the Hua Na Hydropower Project. Ms. Lo Thi Dao took advantage of her acquaintances and reputation to borrow money from people, charging interest.
