Nghe An: GRDP reaches highest growth rate in 6 years
(Baonghean.vn) - Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2018 (at 2010 comparative prices) is estimated at 38,360.3 billion VND, up 7.39% over the same period in 2017.
On June 21, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting to assess the socio-economic situation in the first 6 months of the year, tasks and solutions for the end of the year and a number of other important areas. Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were Vice Chairmen, members of the committee, leaders of branches and units.

In the first 6 months of 2018, all levels and sectors have focused on implementing the tasks set out in the plan. The socio-economic situation of Nghe An province in the first 6 months of 2018 achieved many positive results. The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector is estimated at 8,597.6 billion VND, up 4.84%; the industry - construction sector is estimated at 10,784.2 billion VND, up 10.97% (industry alone is estimated at 6,526 billion VND, up 14.98%); the service sector is 17,140.7 billion VND, up 6.89%.
Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2018 (at 2010 comparative prices) is estimated at 38,360.3 billion VND, up 7.39% over the same period in 2017, the highest increase in the same period in the last 6 years.
As of June 30, 2018, the total outstanding debt of credit institutions in the area is estimated at VND 181,530 billion, an increase of 6.5% over the beginning of the year.
Total state budget revenue in the area in the first 6 months of 2018 is estimated at 6,197.55 billion VND, reaching 48.8% of the estimate, up 10.2% over the same period.
The province has focused on directing the resolution of difficulties and obstacles to speed up the implementation of key projects.

In the first 6 months of 2018, the whole province has newly granted (approved investment policy and issued investment registration certificates) to 50 projects, with a total registered investment capital of 6,194.08 billion VND.
Continue to coordinate and work with central ministries and branches to mobilize ODA programs and projects in the province; in which 1 project has been decided by the Prime Minister for investment policy, which is the Basic Infrastructure Project for Comprehensive Development of Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces (ADB capital, 54.14 million USD); 4 other projects are continuing to complete procedures, expected to negotiate and sign agreements in 2018.
Agricultural, forestry and fishery production continued to be stable, and industry grew quite well.
However, compared to the growth scenario, the GRDP growth rate in the first 6 months of 2018 has not yet reached (7.39%/scenario 8%); budget revenue is lower than the estimated progress. Investment attraction has not reached expectations...
At the conference, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the sectors and departments to discuss issues such as: the province's growth rate, budget revenue has not been achieved, investment attraction still has many procedural problems, site clearance is still slow, construction progress is slow, administrative reform has not been achieved, there are still violations of land, minerals, fire prevention and fighting still has many shortcomings...

Representatives of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that there are still 10 districts that have not approved land use plans, leading to impacts on socio-economic development in the area...
Also on the morning of June 21, the Provincial People's Committee listened to and discussed 3 other contents: Report on the results of implementing the conclusions of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Report on the implementation of administrative reform work at 7 key units and the implementation of the administrative reform project of agencies, units and localities in the province; Project to improve the administrative reform index and public administration governance index of Nghe An province by 2020.
Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong requested all sectors and levels to direct, urge and inspect the implementation of the 2018 Plan tasks according to the growth scenario; focus on implementing and organizing mid-term review of the implementation of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress and the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress; summarize 5 years of implementing Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Politburo. Promote restructuring of the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development.
Continue to focus on directing, guiding, and supporting localities to speed up the progress of new rural construction of 27 communes registered to meet new rural standards in 2018.

Directing to accelerate the progress of investment projects to be put into operation soon so that by the end of 2018, products will be added to the new added value such as: Expanding the Hoa Sen Steel production line, garment factories (Minh Anh, MLB TENERGY phase 2, Hi-tech garment, Manh Thanh garment), hydropower projects (Chi Khe, Song Quang, Canan, Xoong Con), projects in VSIP Nghe An Industrial Park,... Speeding up the progress of infrastructure construction in VSIP, Hemaraj, Dong Hoi Industrial Parks, seaports, infrastructure of industrial clusters and handicraft villages.
