Nghe An: Rare case of fighting rooster laying eggs
(Baonghean.vn) - Waking up to feed the chickens the next morning, a resident in Nghe An was surprised to see his fighting rooster laying eggs.
The owner of the egg-laying fighting rooster is Mr. Ho Van Nghe, residing in Hamlet 10, Quynh Thach Commune, Quynh Luu District (Nghe An).

Mr. Nghe said that on the morning of April 10, when he went to the cage to feed the fighting cock, he was surprised to see a chicken egg in the cage. According to Mr. Nghe, the egg laid by the fighting cock was 10mm wide and about 15mm long.
Mr. Nghe added that the fighting rooster he raised was one year old. Although he had raised chickens for many years, this was the first time in his life that he had seen a rooster lay eggs.

Mr. Ngo Duc Quynh, Deputy Head of the Nghe An Veterinary Department, said that in the past, in Quynh Luu district, there was a phenomenon of roosters laying eggs. This was the result of the phenomenon of hermaphrodites between male and female chickens, the eggs laid by the roosters were often small in size and had no yolk.
