To date, the province has completed 418 out of 548 essential infrastructure projects funded by the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

According to the planNational Target ProgramIn the socio-economic development plan for ethnic minority and mountainous areas from 2021 to 2030 (National Target Program 1719), specifically for the period 2021-2025, Nghe An province invested in the construction of 548 essential infrastructure projects. These projects include: transportation, electricity, schools, health stations, cultural facilities, centralized water supply, irrigation, radio stations, and rural markets.

To date, the province has completed 418 infrastructure projects, including: 158 transportation projects, 2 electricity projects, 72 education projects, 19 health stations, 102 cultural facilities, 21 centralized water supply projects, 27 irrigation projects, 7 radio stations, and 10 rural markets.

Thanks to this, essential infrastructure is being invested in and upgraded throughout the villages of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in Nghe An province. The face of rural mountainous areas has improved significantly, and the people are better benefiting from the projects. The projects in the field of investment and construction of essential infrastructure under the National Target Program 1719 have yielded positive results.

A notable project is the road construction project from the city center.Mon Son communeThe project to develop Dan Lai ethnic minority villages was implemented using funds from the National Target Program for socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, giai đoạn 2021-2025.

To date, the internal roads of Bung and Co Phat villages have been invested in and upgraded. In addition, three new suspension bridges connecting these two villages have been built, ending the isolation caused by prolonged heavy rains and floods. All of this has created a new face for the lives of the people, contributing to the goal of poverty reduction.

In Tien Dong commune, many projects such as roads and a centralized water supply system have been invested in and constructed under the National Target Program 1719. Roads connecting hamlets to the commune center and to neighboring communes have been completed, contributing to trade, transportation, and education for the people. In particular, the centralized water supply system has significantly reduced water shortages for residents during the dry season, alleviating many difficulties in their lives.

Thanks to the effectiveness of the National Target Program 1719, the rural landscape in mountainous areas inhabited by ethnic minorities has changed and improved. This is an important condition contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minorities, gradually realizing the goal of poverty eradication. Currently, the poverty rate among ethnic minority households decreases by more than 3% each year and is now only over 17%; the average per capita income has reached 38.4 million VND/year.
