Nghe An: More than 1,800 tons of rice to relieve hunger for people during the Mau Tuat New Year
(Baonghean.vn) - The People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a Decision (No. 386/QD-UBND dated January 26, 2017) allocating 1,860,630 tons of rice to districts and towns in the province to support hungry households during the Lunar New Year 2018.
Accordingly, the People's Committee of Nghe An province requested the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to organize the transportation and delivery of rice directly to the People's Committees of districts and towns in the district and town centers to ensure quality and timeliness.
Assign the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and towns to organize the reception of rice from the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to promptly distribute rice to the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns according to the quantity that the Provincial People's Committee has decided to allocate to districts and towns; be directly responsible for directing and inspecting the reception and distribution of rice to households facing hunger in communes, wards and towns to ensure timeliness, correct subjects, correct regime and complete the distribution of rice to households before February 5, 2018 (ie December 20, 2017 lunar calendar).

The Provincial People's Committee will support the cost of transporting rice from district and town centers to commune and village centers in mountainous districts; in the immediate future, the People's Committees of districts and towns will proactively allocate local budgets to promptly transport rice to relieve hunger for the people.
The People's Committees of districts and towns synthesize the need for funding to transport rice and send it to the Department of Finance for synthesis and consultation to the Provincial People's Committee for support decision.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Finance to guide, inspect and urge the People's Committees of districts and towns in distributing rice, ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulations.
