Nghe An: More than 120 billion VND budget for environmental protection
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An is increasingly paying attention to environmental protection, investing funds to overcome and manage the environment.

Although the budget is limited, Nghe An province annually allocates regular funding for environmental protection. In 2014, it was 115.771 billion VND; in 2015, it was 121.981 billion VND; in 2016, it was 122.196 billion VND and in 2017, it is expected to be over 120 billion VND.

Since 2016, Nghe An has been monitoring the marine environment monthly and widely publicizing it on the mass media. In 2016 alone, the province conducted 19 seawater monitoring sessions. The authorities have increased inspections of factories and enterprises in the area; reviewed environmental impact assessment (EIA) reports, enhanced the handling of pesticide residues, issued mineral exploitation licenses, and implemented environmental projects.
Nghe An is also proposing that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; the Ministry of Finance; and the Ministry of Planning and Investment support funding for the project "Handling particularly serious pollution caused by residual plant protection chemicals" with funding of112.68 billion VND; Proposing the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to facilitate access to capital sources to overcome pollution and improve the environment for areas with serious environmental pollution in Nghe An province such as Wastewater treatment at Nghi Yen Solid Waste Treatment Complex; Building a waste collection and treatment system in Ngoc Van seafood processing village, Dien Ngoc commune,... with a budget of 221.34 billion VND.
