Nghe An: More than 32,000 candidates enter the 2019 National High School Exam
(Baonghean) - Today (June 24), more than 32,000 candidates across the province began completing procedures to take the 2019 National High School Exam. This is a very important exam, serving as the basis for graduation recognition and admission to universities and colleges.
Create a good mindset for candidates
As the National High School Exam nears, teachers and 12th grade students at Quy Hop 2 High School are still busy with their books. This is also one of the schools in a disadvantaged area, with nearly 30% of the students being ethnic minorities, having to rent a room, far from their families.

The hot weather near the exam day made it more difficult for us to study. However, we felt lucky because our teachers often encouraged, helped and created the best conditions to support students who were away from home like us.”
In class 12B9, to facilitate students' exam preparation, the homeroom teacher created a group on Facebook for all students in the class and subject teachers to interact and exchange with each other every day. All questions from the students are compiled by the teachers and then answered directly to each student or discussed during review sessions at school.
When entering the National High School Exam, we do not set too many goals, we just try to review so that all students have enough average score, first of all to graduate from high school. We also encourage students to be calm, confident, and comfortable when entering the exam so that they do not feel pressured, worried, and need to concentrate when doing the test."

At Thai Hoa High School, although it is a school with good quality, exam preparation is still carried out very urgently close to the exam date.
Before the exam day, I especially remind students to carefully read the 12 Literature lessons in the curriculum, grasp the knowledge system about the author, the context of creation and the key content in the reading to ensure enough knowledge to do the test.
Prepare the conditions for the exam
KThis year, Nghe An province has 32,405 candidates registered to take the National High School Exam. Of these, 13,413 candidates are taking the exam only for graduation, 17,870 are taking the exam for university and college admission. In addition, there are more than 1,000 independent candidates.
Up to this point, 61 examination sites in 21 districts, cities and towns have prepared all necessary conditions in terms of facilities and equipment to support security and safety work and develop plans to prevent incidents.

In particular, although this year, the exam sites are held in localities, the units still pay great attention to food, accommodation, travel and creating the best conditions for candidates and parents.
In Thai Hoa town, this year there are more than 1,100 candidates taking the exam, of which the Dong Hieu High School exam site has more than 300 candidates from Quynh Luu 4 High School.
“For candidates who live far away, we have asked the units to arrange accommodation, meals, and lodging near the school for candidates to travel conveniently. The town also requires all examination sites to arrange waiting rooms for candidates and their parents outside the examination sites and provide free water and milk for candidates.”
In Nghi Loc district, teacher Thai Van Ky - Principal of Nghi Loc 5 High School said: "Students of Nghi Loc 5 High School are located in a fairly large area, the farthest student is nearly 20 km away. Because there are no motels or hotels in our area, the school has proactively contacted families near the school so that not only parents and students but also teachers who work as exam invigilators, if in need, can stay for free.
Before the National High School Exam, the Provincial Steering Committee for the National High School Exam also went directly to a testing site in Vinh City to inspect the preparations for the National High School Exam such as cabinets for storing exam papers, exam questions, installing cameras at locations according to regulations, and monitoring 24/7. At the same time, schools were required to review the electrical system, replace the lighting system, ensure requirements and check facilities to avoid unfortunate situations during the exam.

This year, universities also continue to go to exam sites to coordinate exam supervision. Therefore, the Director of the Department of Education and Training requested that the campuses coordinate smoothly with other schools and create the best conditions for university staff and supervisors to conveniently go to the local exam supervision area.

After the exam, the candidates' papers at the exam sites are kept in separate rooms with separate cabinets, separate locks, separate test papers, cameras and strict police supervision. Regarding the exam marking, the universities will coordinate in marking the multiple-choice exams, and the Department will be responsible for marking the essay - Literature exams.
In the 2019 National High School Exam, the whole province has 61 testing sites with 1,360 testing rooms and 60 waiting rooms.
To prepare for the National High School Exam, Nghe An mobilized 4,915 people to work on the exam. Nghe An exam cluster will also coordinate with 6 universities: Vinh University, Vinh Technical Pedagogical University, Vinh Industrial University, Hanoi Law University, Thanh Hoa University of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Fire Prevention and Fighting University to work on the exam invigilation.
