Nghe An: More than 70 people learned and shared experiences in developing community tourism
(Baonghean.vn) - More than 70 students from villages in the western districts of Nghe An learned and shared experiences on how to do community tourism to contribute to job creation and income increase.
From May 25 to 28, the Department of Tourism, the Provincial Tourism Association, and the UNDP GEF - SGP Project Management Board jointly organized a training course on community tourism associated with forest protection and development.
The training course was attended by more than 70 students from the western districts of Nghe An (Quy Chau, Que Phong, Con Cuong, Tuong Duong, Tan Ky...).

The training program is within the framework of the Project "Developing ecotourism for ethnic minorities in the buffer zone of Pu Mat National Park, contributing to the conservation of biodiversity in the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve, associated with the protection and sustainable development of forests".
Participating in the training program, trainees and experts shared and exchanged experiences on building and developing models and methods of community tourism (welcoming guests, building menus, arranging bedrooms, preparing food...). From there, they applied and implemented them to bring high efficiency, contributing to job creation and increasing income for people at community tourism sites.

In addition, students also receive knowledge and skills in forest protection and development; how to plant and care for forestry trees (Hoang dang, indigo, phang, den, do xoi...) to serve the demand for raw materials for brocade weaving. Especially the people of Hoa Tien village, Chau Tien commune (Quy Chau) and Xieng village, Mon Son commune (Con Cuong).

Within the framework of the training program, the trainees also visited, studied and surveyed a number of homestay models in Quy Chau and Que Phong districts; visited the brocade weaving village of Chau Tien commune; booths displaying products and items serving tourists in Que Phong district; historical relics, scenic spots and bonsai planting models sponsored by the GEF-SGP Project...
