Nghe An: More than 86 thousand disabled people and orphans are sponsored
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 9, the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans of Nghe An province held a conference to review the work of 2019 and deploy tasks for 2020.
In 2019, the Provincial Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans coordinated with authorities at all levels, social organizations, and philanthropists to provide material and spiritual support to people with disabilities and orphans (PWDs and orphans).
In 2019, the Provincial Association mobilized over 16.4 billion VND in cash and in kind. From the above fund, Association organizations actively implemented assistance programs for 86,076 PWDs and TMC, including supporting cataract surgery for 351 blind people; providing free medical examination and medicine to 29,922 people; donating 618 wheelchairs, wheelchairs, 892 bicycles; building and repairing 55 charity houses and solidarity houses; supporting the construction of 53 sanitation facilities, improving 18 domestic water systems...
