Nghe An: More than 908 tons of rice to support people affected by floods

(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 6079/QD-UBND dated December 2, 2016, allocating 908,235 tons of rice to support households suffering from hunger due to storm No. 4 and floods in 2016:

Propose the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region: Organize transportation and direct delivery of rice to the People's Committees of districts in the district and town centers, ensuring quality and timeliness.

Assign to the Chairman of the People's Committee of the districts:

Organize the reception of rice from the Nghe Tinh State Reserve Department to promptly distribute rice to the People's Committees of communes and towns according to the quantity that the Provincial People's Committee has decided to allocate to the districts; Take direct responsibility for directing and inspecting the reception and distribution of rice to households facing hunger in communes and towns to ensure timeliness, correct subjects, correct policies and complete the distribution of rice to households before December 20, 2016.

The Provincial People's Committee supports the cost of transporting rice from the District Center to the Commune Center and villages in mountainous districts. In the immediate future, the District People's Committees will proactively allocate local budgets to promptly transport rice to relieve hunger for the people. The District People's Committees will synthesize the need for funding for transporting rice and send it to the Department of Finance for synthesis and consultation to the Provincial People's Committee for support decision.

The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs presides over and coordinates with the Department of Finance and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide, inspect and urge the People's Committees of districts in distributing rice, ensuring timeliness and compliance with regulations.
