Nghe An province issues guidelines for quarantining people returning from other localities.

On the afternoon of June 1st, the Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control of Nghe An province issued a document to departments, agencies, and localities regarding the addition of measures to prevent and control the epidemic.

Accordingly, the COVID-19 pandemic is currently developing very complicatedly throughout the country, especially in Bac Giang, Bac Ninh provinces, Ho Chi Minh City, etc. The number of citizens returning to/passing through areas with outbreaks across the country is increasing rapidly. To proactively control and prevent the entry and widespread spread of COVID-19 in the province, the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control requests the application of additional COVID-19 prevention and control measures as follows.

For individuals returning from localities implementing social distancing measures under Directive 16, they will be quarantined in a designated facility for at least 21 days from the date of leaving the quarantined or lockdown area. They will undergo at least three tests as required. After completing the designated quarantine period, they will be required to self-isolate at home for seven days, with testing to be conducted on the seventh day.

Regarding testing costs, for those returning before the lockdown and social distancing measures were implemented, the local budget will cover the expenses. For those returning after the lockdown and social distancing measures were implemented, citizens are responsible for paying the full cost.

For individuals returning from localities or areas implementing social distancing measures under Directive 15, they will be quarantined at home or their place of residence for 14 days from the date of leaving the social distancing area. They must report their health status daily to local health officials. If they experience symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, chills, or loss of taste, they should immediately go to a medical facility for timely guidance and management as per regulations.

For individuals returning from localities and regions within provinces and cities nationwide that have community-acquired Covid-19 infections but are not subject to lockdowns or social distancing measures as per Directive 15 or Directive 16, they are required to self-monitor their health for 14 days at home or their place of residence. They must report their health status daily to local health officials. If they experience symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, fatigue, chills, or loss of taste, they should immediately go to a medical facility for timely guidance and management as per regulations.

Currently, Nghe An province is free of Covid-19, with one community transmission case and four patients returning from abroad having been discharged from the hospital. All more than 100 close contacts of the community transmission case have also completed their centralized quarantine period and have tested negative multiple times.
