Nghe An responds to National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention
(Baonghean.vn) - The launching ceremony in response to the "National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention" aims to raise awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society in preventing and combating domestic violence, contributing to protecting women and children, building prosperous, progressive and happy families.
On the evening of June 9, at Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh city), the Department of Culture and Sports held a launching ceremony to respond to the National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and to celebrate Vietnamese Family Day (June 28).
Attending the launching ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, districts, cities and towns in the province and a large number of people of Vinh city.

The National Action Month on Domestic Violence Prevention and Control in 2023 has the theme "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation". With the aim of raising awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors and the whole society on preventing and combating domestic violence, contributing to protecting women and children, building prosperous, progressive and happy families; honoring the profound humanistic values of Vietnamese families; promoting propaganda and mobilizing all classes of people to practice civilized lifestyles and cultural behavior in families and communities, inheriting the good traditions of Vietnamese families, selectively absorbing new values and social progress.

Speaking at the ceremony, the representative of the Department of Culture and Sports emphasized: In order to gradually reduce domestic violence and promptly support victims of domestic violence, all levels and sectors from the province to the grassroots need to promote information, education and communication activities on domestic violence prevention and control on mass media, in many diverse and attractive forms, suitable for each target group and regional culture, with special attention to ethnic minority areas. Integrate knowledge on domestic violence prevention and control into education and training programs suitable for all levels and grades; strengthen coordination between families, schools and society in preventing and controlling domestic violence.

In addition, direct relevant agencies to promptly deploy and have solutions to quickly and effectively handle domestic violence hotspots; continue to research, replicate and maintain models of domestic violence prevention and control suitable to local conditions; continue to improve the capacity of staff directly involved in domestic violence prevention and control at all levels and sectors; collaborators, propagandists, consultants, mediators, and prestigious people in the community on domestic violence prevention and control./.
