Nghe An opens the Cuong Temple festival.

((Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 11th, Dien Chau district held the opening ceremony of the 2017 Cuong Temple Festival. The festival commemorates the immense contributions of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong and the kings who founded the Au Lac nation.

The festival has two parts. The ceremonial part includes processions of General Cao Lỗ from the Cao family church in Diễn Thọ commune to Xuân Ái communal house, and processions of the King and Princess from Xuân Ái communal house to Cuông Temple. The festive part features lively cultural, artistic, and sporting activities such as: men's and women's volleyball competitions, folk games like Ferris wheel rides, cockfighting, lion dances, sack races, and photo exhibitions... The Cuong Temple Festival is also an opportunity for people from different regions of the province to meet, interact, and share in the festivities through cultural and artistic performances that reflect the rich traditions of each locality. In particular, it's a chance for the younger generation to reflect on the history and traditions of their ancestors, and to pray for favorable weather, calm seas, abundant harvests, and happiness and peace.
