On the morning of July 8, in Cua Lo town, the Department of Population and Family Planning organized a communication program to celebrate World Population Day (July 11) and deploy population work in the coming time.

In 2020, the United Nations Population Fund chose the theme of World Population Day as “Pushing Back Covid-19 - How to Protect the Rights and Health of Women and Girls in the Current Context”. This is a message calling for global efforts to help “leave no one behind”.
Countries play an important and decisive role in the world's recovery speed. Implementing reproductive health care/family planning solutions for people, bringing long-term benefits to the community, creating a better future for humanity.
At the ceremony, Mr. Duong Dinh Chinh - Director of the Department of Health also said: The Covid-19 pandemic has had a great impact on all areas of social life in the world. In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular have had many policies of care and support, especially for vulnerable groups, ethnic minorities, and remote areas.
Regarding the Population sector, the leaders of the Department of Health also highly appreciated the implementation of many activities such as implementing reproductive health care/family planning services, taking care of girls, organizing communication and consulting activities associated with providing services in the direction of "Close to the people - Safe - Convenient"... to contribute to stabilizing the scale and improving the quality of the population.

To successfully implement the theme of World Population Day this year as well as quickly and sustainably resolve issues arising from population work, the Director of the Department of Health suggested that the entire sector needs to improve the quality and effectiveness of advisory work for Party committees and authorities at all levels in leading, directing, operating, and investing resources in health and population work.
Besides, it is necessary to strengthen communication and mobilization work, diversify forms, innovate content to suit the needs of the audience; build many effective communication models and activities.

At the ceremony, the Provincial People's Committee awarded 5 collectives with outstanding achievements that met the standards of communes that reduced the rate of third births by 50% or more, including the communes of Keng Du, Tay Son (Ky Son), Tam Thai, Mai Son (Tuong Duong) and Hung Nghia (Hung Nguyen).
