Nghe An sues garment company for social insurance arrears

(Baonghean.vn) - The Nghe An Provincial Federation of Labor has just filed a lawsuit against a business in court for violating the Social Insurance Law. This is the first time a business in Nghe An has been sued in court after the lawsuit against a business owing social insurance was transferred to the trade union organization according to the 2014 amended Social Insurance Law.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong - Head of the Policy and Law Department (Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation) said: The unit being sued is Venture Nghe An Export Garment Joint Stock Company, located in Hamlet 2, Thanh Tien Commune (Thanh Chuong), officially operating since September 2015 and currently attracting nearly 1,000 workers and laborers.

By the end of November 2016, this company owed the Social Insurance more than 2.3 billion VND, despite repeated reminders from the Social Insurance agency, trade unions at all levels, and interdisciplinary inspection teams.

Therefore, after exchanging information with the Social Insurance agency, in early December 2016, the Provincial Labor Federation decided to file a lawsuit against Venture Nghe An Garment Export Joint Stock Company for violating the Social Insurance law to the People's Court of Thanh Chuong district and is currently waiting for the court to accept the case.

Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong also said: In addition to Venture Nghe An Garment Export Joint Stock Company, Nghe An Provincial Labor Federation is considering suing 3 other enterprises for violating social insurance laws, namely Thanh An Saigon Hospital (No. 54, Ly Thuong Kiet Street, Le Loi Ward, Vinh City), My Hao Private Investment and Production Enterprise (Cultural House Block 4, Truong Thi Ward, Vinh City) andNguyen Trung Joint Stock Company (No. 55, Tong Duy Tan Street, Ha Huy Tap Ward, Vinh City)./.
