Nghe An prosecuted 31 cases, 115 defendants used high technology to commit fraud
(Baonghean.vn) - From 2018 to present, Nghe An Police have prosecuted 31 cases, 115 defendants, and administratively handled 15 subjects for gambling, organizing gambling, and fraud to appropriate property using high technology.
On May 31, the inspection team of the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Department A05) worked with Nghe An Police to organize an inspection and survey of the situation and current status of cyber security forces and high-tech crime prevention and control.

From the beginning of 2018 to the first quarter of 2019, the network security situation in Nghe An province was basically stable, with no attacks on the portals/websites of Party, State, and enterprise agencies and no cases of leaking or leaking documents containing State secrets on cyberspace.
The situation of high-tech crimes in the area is still potentially complicated, especially gambling crimes via the internet and telecommunications networks such as: lottery, football betting, online games...
In addition, crimes using Facebook to threaten, slander, and insult individuals or organizations also pose many potential risks. Fraudulent crimes to appropriate property via the Internet have shown signs of increasing in number of cases, nature, and level of damage caused.

Since the beginning of 2018, Nghe An Police have established 18 special projects to combat high-tech crimes, prosecuted 31 cases, 115 defendants, and administratively handled 15 subjects for gambling, organizing gambling, fraud and appropriation of property, etc.
In addition, the Provincial Police are maintaining and developing forces to fight and refute hostile and erroneous views, professional departments and police of districts, cities and towns with more than 450 officers and soldiers participating. Doing a good job of social prevention, propaganda, dissemination of laws and identifying plots and methods of operation of criminals using high technology to keep people vigilant.

In the coming time, Nghe An Police will advise and organize classes for officers on cyber reconnaissance; guide local police on international cooperation mechanisms on cyber security and high-tech crime prevention and control.
