Nghe An: Prosecution of a subject who took advantage of a stormy night to rob property

Previously, on October 15, 2025, Vinh Loc Ward Police received a complaint from Ms. Tran Thao U. (born 2000), residing in Thai Loc block, Vinh Loc ward, regarding the following content: At about 9:00 p.m. on October 1, 2025, while driving a motorbike on Nguyen Trong Thuong street (Vinh Loc ward), she was suddenly approached from behind by a young man driving a motorbike, snatched a phone worth about 38 million VND, and then quickly escaped. Due to being too busy with work, Ms. U. only went to the police station two weeks later to report the incident.
Immediately after receiving the report, Vinh Loc Ward Police coordinated with Nghe An Provincial Police Command Center to concentrate forces and extract the system.security camerasto track down the subject.
However, the incident occurred at the same time as a storm and widespread power outage, causing many difficulties in investigation and tracing. However, at 4:00 p.m. on October 16, 2025, Vinh Loc Ward Police arrested Phan The Them (born in 1999), residing in Block 4, Phuc Tho, Vinh Loc Ward. The seized evidence included: 01 phone (stolen property), 01 motorbike, the vehicle used by the suspect to commit the crime, and a number of other related objects.
At the police station, Phan The Them admitted his crime.
Currently, the Provincial Police Investigation Agency has decided to prosecute the case and prosecute Phan The Them for robbery.
