Nghe An: Export turnover in 6 months reached over 500 million USD
(Baonghean.vn) - In the first 6 months of the year, export turnover in Nghe An reached 507.5 million USD, down 7.1% over the same period in 2019, reaching 42.3% of the planned target. Of which, export of goods reached 377.9 million USD, equivalent to the same period turnover.

Commodity turnover growthHigh export turnover in the first 6 months of 2020 includes: textiles and garments reaching nearly 136 million USD, up 23.9%; textile and garment materials and footwear reaching 14 million USD, up 19.2%; Processed fruits and fruit juice reaching 17 million USD, up 200%; Superfine white limestone powder reaching 20 million USD, up 8.6%; Wood chips reaching 82.2 million USD, up 17.3%; Plastic additives reaching 9.4 million USD, up 17.8%; Packaging of all kinds reaching 4.7 million USD, up 33%; Rice reaching 2.5 million USD, up 113.8%; Pine reaching 2.8 million USD, up 34% over the same period in 2019.

However, the Covid-19 outbreak and the strict control of air and sea ports to prevent the epidemic have greatly affected exports in the past 6 months. In particular, agricultural products such as fresh fruits and cassava starch have been completely suspended when passing through the border gates to China.
Besides the growth of some export items, many groups of items had a decrease in export turnover compared to the same period last year, typically the following groups of items: Fresh fruits reached a turnover of 1.5 million USD (down 97%), Cassava starch reached 5.7 million USD (down 54%); Fibers, textile yarns of all kinds (down 9%); Phone components (down 87%); Seafood products (down 23%).

In addition to goods export reaching 377.9 million USD, equivalent to the same period, labor export reached 127 million USD, foreign currency service revenue reached 2.6 million USD, down compared to the same period.
