Nghe An: Conflict at wedding, commune police officer stabbed to death

On May 26, information from Cat Van commune, Thanh Chuong district said that a murder case occurred in the area, leaving one person dead. The victim was Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, currently a police officer of the commune.

The incident happened on the evening of May 25. At that time, Mr. Loi went to help with a wedding at a relative's house in Hamlet 8, Cat Van Commune, Thanh Chuong District.

After everyone had finished eating, there was a power outage. At this time, Mr. Loi and Nguyen Duc Hong (a cousin) had a conflict, leading to a fight.

Mr. Loi was stabbed by Hong and collapsed on the spot. As soon as the incident was discovered, people present at the wedding took Mr. Loi to the Do Luong District General Hospital for emergency treatment. However, due to the severity of his injuries, Mr. Loi died.

Initial investigation shows that at around 8:15 p.m. on May 25, Nguyen Duc Hong rode his motorbike to the wedding while drunk.

Seeing Hong parking her motorbike in the middle of the road, causing traffic congestion in the wedding area, Mr. Loi asked Hong to park her motorbike elsewhere. However, Nguyen Duc Hong did not agree, causing a back and forth argument between the two sides, leading to a conflict.

After being stopped by the people, Mr. Loi continued to return to help with the wedding. Nguyen Duc Hong took advantage of the time when everyone was busy helping with the wedding to go into the kitchen, get a knife, go to where Mr. Loi was standing, and repeatedly stabbed him, causing the victim to collapse on the spot.

As for Nguyen Duc Hong, after causing the incident, he went to the local police station to surrender. The case is being investigated by the police.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Hung - Deputy Head of Thanh Chuong District Police said that the unit has handed over Nguyen Duc Hong to the Criminal Police Department of Nghe An Province Police to investigate according to authority.
