(Baonghean.vn) - Mr. Nguyen Van Huong - Director of the Market Management Department (QLTT) of Nghe An said that the unit will launch a peak campaign against smuggling and trade fraud before, during and after the Lunar New Year of Nham Dan in 2022.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Huong, people's consumption demand often increases at the end of the year, and it is forecasted that the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods will tend to become complicated again on all routes, fields and localities, especially during the Lunar New Year 2022.

To proactively control the situation, promptly detect and prevent smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, the Market Management Department implements a peak plan against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2022.

Implementation period: From December 1, 2021 to February 15, 2022.

The goal is to thoroughly grasp and focus on effectively directing the implementation of Directives, Plans, and Directive Documents of the Government, Prime Minister, National Steering Committee 389, Ministry of Industry and Trade, General Department of Market Management, Provincial People's Committees in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud; production and trade of counterfeit goods, banned goods, poor quality goods, goods that do not ensure food safety and other areas under the functions and tasks of the Market Management force.

Strengthen market inspection and control, strictly handle violations of the law, focus on inspecting essential goods consumed in large quantities during the New Year and Lunar New Year, and medical equipment in the prevention and control of Covid-19.

Strengthen information and propaganda work to organizations, individuals trading goods and consumers to raise legal awareness in business activities and consumer culture.

Strengthen market inspection and control and handle violations of goods that are essential items with high consumer demand at the end of the year and during the Lunar New Year such as confectionery, wine, beer, soft drinks, cigarettes, fresh food items, etc., medical equipment items serving the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic; prevent speculation, hoarding, and unreasonable price increases; ensure market stability to serve the people's Tet needs.

The specific implementation content during this peak period is: Strengthening coordination with functional forces and local authorities, organizing regular inspections and controls in areas, warehouses, goods gathering points, wholesale markets, roads, railways, etc. in localities in the province.

Apply information technology to handle the trading of prohibited goods, smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, goods that infringe intellectual property rights, etc. via social networks and e-commerce platforms. Strengthen information and communication work, combine inspection and handling of violations, implement commitments not to trade in counterfeit, smuggled, or poor quality goods; inspect businesses that have signed commitments and strictly handle violations.

Regularly inspect and supervise the implementation of public service activities of civil servants to promptly urge and discipline civil servants to complete assigned tasks, ensuring quality and time as prescribed; resolutely and strictly handle collectives and individuals of civil servants who degenerate, cover up, or assist in violations of the law.

In 2021, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the epidemic, Nghe An Market Management Department focused on thoroughly grasping and seriously implementing the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee 389, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and the Steering Committee 389 on market inspection and control, and stepping up the fight against smuggling.commercial fraudTrade and counterfeiting in the new situation.

However, it is very difficult to regulate e-commerce activities. Some e-commerce establishments do not register their operations according to regulations; do not declare or declare dishonestly about their operations to evade taxes; in particular, many prohibited and restricted goods, counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights are also openly sold...

Faced with the above situation, Nghe An Market Management Department has developed a Plan to inspect and control e-commerce activities, in accordance with the actual situation of e-commerce development in the locality; ensuring effective implementation and strict handling of organizations and individuals with violations in e-commerce activities.

The Department verifies, inspects, and handles businesses and individuals engaged in e-commerce trading in essential goods and prohibited goods. Coordinates with specialized state management agencies and specialized functional forces to take measures to prevent, combat, inspect, control, and stop violations in e-commerce business activities.

In addition, strengthen information, propaganda and dissemination of State regulations and laws on business activities in the field of e-commerce through verification, inspection and handling of violations.

With the determination of the Nghe An Market Management Department, from the beginning of 2021 to now, Market Management Team No. 11 has handled 50 cases of e-commerce violations, with a total fine value of 1 billion 130 million VND. Common violations: Setting up an e-commerce website to sell goods without notifying the competent State management agency. Trading in counterfeit goods, smuggled goods,goods of unknown originvia social networks Facebook, Zalo.

In 2021, Nghe An Market Management Department detected and sanctioned 3,073 administrative violations, with a total fine value of 10 billion 300 million VND, of which 4 billion 450 million VND was administratively sanctioned.
