Nghe An: 7th grade male student drowns while on a class picnic

(Baonghean.vn) - On a picnic with his class, a 7th grade male student unfortunately slipped into a deep water hole and drowned.

On the evening of March 17, the family brought the body of Vo Minh D. - a 7th grade student at Hanh Thiet Secondary School, Quy Chau, home for burial.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan - Principal of the school, on the same morning, the homeroom teacher, after discussing with parents and students, organized a picnic for the class. Along with the teachers and 36 students of the class, there were 34 parents.

The picnic site is the Nam Pong hydroelectric dam area, located in Chau Hanh commune (Quy Chau).

According to witnesses, while playing, Vo Minh D. and another student accidentally slipped into a deep water hole. Although the adults who were with them promptly rescued and gave first aid, only one student survived.

"The class organized the field trip, the school did not know about it. We are also very heartbroken," said principal Xuan.

Nam Pong hydroelectric area is about 7km from Tan Lac town center, Quy Chau, is a place with many beautiful landscapes with high rocky outcrops, every summer this place is often chosen by families, young people, and students as a tourist destination to explore.
