* In Dien Chau districtAccording to initial estimates, approximately 300 hectares of rice fields have been flattened, mainly consisting of long-duration, purebred rice varieties. Many of these fields still have green rice plants, with harvest expected in about 10 days. Because these purebred rice varieties have long panicles, thick grains, high yields, and heavy stems, they are more prone to lodging.

In addition, dozens of hectares of newly sown summer-autumn rice seedlings in the communes of Dien Thai, Dien Dong, Dien Minh, Dien Binh, etc., were also flooded.

Currently, the Dien Chau agricultural sector and its communes are mobilizing local people to drain water from their fields. The Irrigation Enterprise is focusing on operating sluice gates through the dikes to drain water into the sea. Areas with green rice are being pruned and bundled, while fields with 80% or more ripe rice are being harvested, with the mobilization of combine harvesters to speed up the harvesting process and prepare for the summer-autumn crop season.

Of particular concern is that many rice crops that are still green and unharvestable risk a 30-50% reduction in yield.
