Nghe An: Many places welcome 'golden' rain

At around 5:00 p.m. this afternoon (July 1), many localities in Quy Hop district received a rather large and widespread shower that lasted for many hours, the rain that people have been waiting for for many days.
Mr. Quan Vi Giang - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quy Hop district said: This is considered a "golden" rain because currently in Quy Hop area, there are about 1,800 hectares of crops, including 300 hectares of flowers, sugarcane, and citrus trees that are suffering from severe drought and need concentrated irrigation in the localities of Tho Hop, Minh Hop, Nghia Xuan, and Van Loi; 500 hectares of planted rice are lacking water and 1,000 hectares of rice are at risk of lacking water if there is no rain in the coming days. Thanks to this "golden" rain, most of the 1,800 hectares of crops in Quy Hop are able to revive.

Mr. Dang Quoc Huy in Huong Chau hamlet, Chau Dinh commune, Quy Hop district was excited: Thanks to the rain this afternoon, 60 hectares of sugarcane, 16 hectares of rice and 5 hectares of oranges and tangerines of the whole hamlet have revived.

In Hoang Mai town this evening, there was also a thunderstorm. According to the leader of Hoang Mai town's Economic Department, this afternoon, the town received a "golden" rain for quite a long time.
The rain that appeared in some localities this evening has reduced the temperature, creating cool air for people, livestock and crops recovering after many days of intense heat.
