Currently, Vinh City is a pioneer in organizing swimming lessons in schools. However, making swimming a core subject has only been implemented in some non-public or private schools. At Viet Anh Primary School - starting from the beginning of April, two sessions a week, students from grades 1 to 5 will be taught swimming in physical education class. For first graders, the first lessons getting acquainted with water do not make many students worried. To ensure safety, the school must arrange two swimming teachers and a homeroom teacher to directly guide and encourage the students. Teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Trang shared: Students love swimming and are excited every time they come to swimming class. Photo: My Ha |

According to teacher Nguyen Van Thang, teaching swimming to any age group starts with simple skills such as holding your breath in the air or holding your breath underwater. Teaching swimming to primary school children is more difficult because they do not know how to think yet. Therefore, a swimming class of only 7-10 children will be more effective. Photo: My Ha |

Since the end of April, the swimming pool has been a training place for all students in the school. With the characteristics of high school students, the school has set aside a month for students to practice on their own. It is expected that by May 25, the school will test each class. Students who are not yet proficient will be trained by the school during the summer. After having a swimming pool, Nghi Loc 2 High School will set a goal that by the end of the next school year, all students in the school can swim proficiently. In addition to organizing swimming for students in the school, former students of the school also hope that the swimming pool will be used to organize swimming lessons for students in the entire area. Currently, the swimming pool is open in the afternoons and all day (for Saturdays and Sundays). Since the swimming pool began operating, it has never been empty of customers. The school has supported the operating costs for free. Photo: My Ha |
