Nghe An - Highlights of the Past Week

(Baonghean.vn) - Let's review the outstanding events that took place in Nghe An province last week (February 9-13).

1) Localities are organizing pilot congresses for the 2015-2020 term:

Voting for the new Party Committee in Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu district)

Over the past week, Party committees in several localities across our province have held their Party congresses at the ward and commune levels for the 2015-2020 term. These localities were selected as pilot locations to gain experience for wider implementation.

2) Posthumously award the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces to Major General Hoang Dan

The title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces was awarded to the family of Major General Hoang Dan.

On the morning of March 12th, the People's Committee of Nghi Loc district and the People's Committee of Nghi Thuan commune solemnly held a ceremony to receive the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces posthumously awarded by the President of Vietnam to Major General Hoang Dan, former Deputy Commander of the 2nd Army Corps.

3) Nghe An wins 6 awards at the national science and technology competition for high school students.

An entry by students from Hoang Ta Thon Secondary School (Dien Chau) at the provincial science and technology competition.

At the 2015 National Science and Technology Competition for High School Students held last week, the Nghe An delegation excellently won 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 2 consolation prizes.

4) Opening ceremony of the U19 National Football Championship finals at Vinh Stadium.

A ball contest between U19 SLNA and U19 Hanoi T&T took place right after the opening ceremony.

On the afternoon of March 12th, the opening ceremony of the 2015 Ton Hoa Sen Cup National U19 Football Championship Finals took place at Vinh Stadium, featuring 8 outstanding teams that qualified from the preliminary rounds: Viettel, Thua Thien Hue, Binh Duong, Long An (Group A) and Song Lam Nghe An, Ho Chi Minh City, PVF and Hanoi T&T (Group B).
