Nghe An distributes more than 700 tons of rice to hungry people affected by Covid-19
(Baonghean.vn) - Each person in a hungry household will receive 15 kg of rice. The district with the largest number of hungry households is Que Phong district, with 2,658 households and more than 12,000 hungry people.
On February 25, the People's Committee of Nghe An province decided to allocate 700 tons of rice to the People's Committees of districts and towns to support people affected by the Covid-19 epidemic.
Accordingly, each person in a hungry household will be supported with 15 kg of rice. Localities with many hungry people receiving rice support include Que Phong district with 183,960 kg of rice, Quy Chau: 102,105 kg of rice; Quy Hop: 53,805 kg of rice; Nghia Dan: 13,965 kg of rice; Thai Hoa town: 3,150 kg of rice; Ky Son: 69,435 kg of rice; Tuong Duong: 16,530 kg of rice; Con Cuong: 22,320 kg of rice; Anh Son: 26,685 kg of rice; Do Luong: 1,380 kg of rice; Tan Ky: 1,250 kg of rice; Thanh Chuong: 111,300 kg of rice; Nam Dan: 15,810 kg of rice; Hung Nguyen: 6,780 kg of rice; Dien Chau: 23,355 kg of rice; Nghi Loc: 26,010 kg of rice; Cua Lo town: 22,155 kg of rice.

The Provincial People's Committee requested the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to organize the transportation and delivery of rice directly to the Centers of districts and towns to ensure quality and timeliness; the transportation of rice to districts and towns must be completed before March 4, 2022.
The Provincial People's Committee assigned the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts and towns to organize the reception of rice from the State Reserve Department of Nghe Tinh region to promptly distribute rice to the People's Committees of communes, wards and towns according to the list approved by the People's Committees of districts and the amount allocated by the Provincial People's Committee to the districts to distribute to hungry people; be responsible for directing and inspecting the reception and distribution of rice to hungry households in communes, wards and towns to ensure timeliness and compliance with regulations; the distribution of rice to people must be completed before March 6, 2022. At the same time, proactively allocate local budgets to promptly transport famine relief rice for people from the district and town centers to the commune centers and villages for mountainous districts.
The Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with relevant departments and branches to urge and inspect the People's Committees of districts and towns in distributing famine relief rice to people to ensure it is timely, to the right subjects, and in accordance with regulations. The Department of Finance shall appraise and submit to the Provincial People's Committee for decision on supporting the cost of transporting famine relief rice to people.
More than a month ago, on January 21, the Provincial People's Committee also allocated 1,140 tons of rice to districts to support hungry people during the Lunar New Year 2022.
