On the morning of April 27, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to and give opinions on the Action Program to implement Resolution No. 08/NQ-TW. Comrade Le Minh Thong - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Attending the meeting were representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors. |
The draft action program to implement Resolution No. 08/NQ-TW of Nghe An identifies the goal of promoting natural advantages and rich cultural heritage resources to create a breakthrough development for Nghe An tourism, making tourism truly an important economic sector, contributing positively to the growth and economic restructuring of the province.

The general goal emphasizes that by 2020, Nghe An will become one of the tourist centers of the North Central region and an attractive destination of the whole country with a modern infrastructure system, unique tourism products bearing the cultural imprint of Nghe An, with a safe, civilized, friendly and quality tourism environment; gradually build Kim Lien - Nam Dan Relic Site into a national tourist area, Cua Lo Town worthy of being a green, clean and beautiful coastal tourist city.
The specific goal is to strive to achieve the targets set by the Resolution of the 18th Nghe An Provincial Party Congress by 2020, including: Welcoming 5.0 - 5.5 million tourists, the average length of stay of tourists is 1.8 - 2.0 days; tourism revenue reaches about 5,000 billion VND, an average increase of 17 - 18%/year, increasing tourism income, increasing the contribution of the tourism industry to the provincial budget; attracting and creating jobs for over 30,000 direct workers.

To achieve that goal, the task groups and solutions are quite clearly defined, focusing on renewing awareness and thinking about tourism development; restructuring the tourism industry in a professional and modern direction; investing in developing infrastructure and technical facilities for the tourism industry; strengthening promotion activities...
Reporting at the meeting, the leader of the Department of Tourism said that the Department had sent a document asking for comments from over 60 organizations and individuals on the action program.
As a result, 47 responses have been received so far, including many from industry leaders, senior officials, experts and prestigious scientists. The comments focus on supplementing and clarifying some contents and wording in the objectives, tasks and solutions, which are of practical value to complete the action program.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong requested the Department of Tourism to collect opinions from the meeting participants to complete the draft action program, and submit it to the Provincial People's Committee in the upcoming regular meeting. Comrade Le Minh Thong also noted that the Department of Tourism needs to ask for opinions from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, carefully study the draft program of the Ministry to review and complete the draft action program of the province.
