Nghe An strives to plant 107,000 hectares of food crops in the 2019 spring crop

For rice, use officially recognized varieties in the project to arrange the crop so that the rice blooms from April 24 to May 5, so there are 2 fields arranged to be planted before Tet and 1 field arranged to be planted after Tet. Particularly in the flooded summer-autumn areas, spring rice should be arranged to bloom from April 20 to April 25 and short-term varieties should be selected.
At the conference, the opinions of the delegates were basically unanimous that in order to ensure success in spring crop production, it is necessary to focus on doing a good job of investigating, detecting, predicting early and accurately the outbreak of pests on each type of crop for timely and effective prevention, especially paying attention to pests and black-striped dwarf disease. Promote the implementation and expansion of technical advances such as the improved rice intensification process SRI, the 3 reduction 3 increase ICM program... At the same time, do a good job of irrigation, strictly comply with the crop schedule set by the Ministry of Agriculture, and strengthen joint ventures and production links between people and businesses.

In his concluding remarks at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Lap - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development suggested that localities should strengthen the direction, supervision and have support mechanisms to encourage people to implement technical measures as prescribed in the project, in order to ensure the highest results for the spring crop. Regularly monitor, detect and promptly handle and remedy difficulties and problems arising in the production process.
The Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development also requested that localities review and re-evaluate their irrigation water supply capacity to plan to convert unsafe and ineffective rice growing areas to more effective corn, peanuts, vegetables and other crops.
