Nghe An launches Population Communication Campaign, bringing services to the grassroots

Morning of April 27, in districtMr. SonThe Provincial Steering Committee for Population and Development organized a launching ceremony for the Integrated Communication Campaign to provide Reproductive Health Care/Family Planning services, improving population quality in 2022.

In recent times, the workPopulation and DevelopmentIn Nghe An province, there is attention from the General Department of Population and Family Planning; timely leadership and direction from Party committees and authorities from the province to the grassroots level.

So, right after the greatCovid-19 epidemiccontrolled, the whole industry has proactively seized the opportunity, knowing how to choose priority issues to resolutely direct the effective implementation of building and replicating typical models of population and development work such as organizing communication and counseling activities associated with providing reproductive health care/family planning services in the direction of "Close to the people - Safe - Convenient".

In addition, we have focused on communication and community consultation on reproductive health care for women of childbearing age; communication on mass media, on social networks such as Facebook, Zalo, etc., contributing to stabilizing the scale and improving the quality of the province's population.

At the launching ceremony, comrade Duong Dinh Chinh -Director of Department of Healthaffirms: The good implementation of Population and Development work will contribute significantly to the development of the province and the country. In particular, service provision - one of the core elements of Population work and will solve basic problems to implement the small family model and contribute to improving population quality.

This is also the key factor, the focus of current population work, especially when shifting the focus of population work from Population - Family Planning to Population and Development.

From the above meaning, at the launching ceremony, comrade Duong Dinh Chinh suggested that Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations at all levels need to continue to pay attention, lead, direct and invest resources in population work and identify this as an important and regular task, both a goal and a premise to improve population quality.

Besides, it is necessary to strengthen the organization of propaganda and mobilization activities, diversify the content and forms suitable for target groups.

In particular, communication combines counseling and is linked to the provision of family planning/reproductive health care services. In addition, it is necessary to pay attention to the depth, quality and practical effectiveness in service provision, in order to meet the increasing demand for voluntary reproductive health care.

According to the plan, this year's campaign will be organized in all communes, wards and towns in the province and will be divided into 2 phases, ending before November 30, 2022. The goal of the campaign is to improve the quality of communication activities, provide reproductive health care/family planning services and improve the quality of the population in the areas where the campaign is implemented.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Population and Family Planning Pham Vu Hoang highly appreciated the population work of Nghe An province, especially the work of advising on policies and documents and proactively selecting priority issues, the work of organizing the implementation apparatus in a systematic manner, applying IT and initially implementing digital transformation. However, Nghe An is still one of the two provinces with the highest birth rate in the country, the quality of population in some criteria is still low; therefore, in the coming time, Nghe An will not only perform a "dual" task but also have to perform many tasks at the same time, both making efforts to reduce births to soon reach the replacement birth rate, and making efforts to control the gender imbalance at birth and improve population quality.
