The launchto disseminate information, mobilize cadres and people to raise awareness, thereby having strong changes in actions on using energy economically and effectively.

This is also an opportunity for each person to improve their propaganda skills to promote the use of energy saving and efficiency in each family, community and contribute to environmental protection.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Cao Minh Tu–The Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Nghe An said: After 17 years of implementing the Conclusion of the 9th Politburo on the Strategy and Planning for the Development of Vietnam's Electricity Industry, the energy industry in general and the electricity industry in particular have had rapid and relatively synchronous development in all sub-sectors and fields. Thereby, energy supply, especially basic electricity supply, has met the requirements of socio-economic development with increasingly improved quality.

However, our country's energy sector still has many limitations and weaknesses, requiring raising awareness and responsibility of all people about using energy economically and efficiently.

People need to take specific actions in purchasing, using, and operating energy-consuming devices and equipment in the home most effectively and at the same time implement energy-saving solutions.

There are solutions to convert high-efficiency energy-using equipment and apply renewable energy (solar energy, biogas, biomass energy...) in the home to make an important contribution to ensuring and stabilizing national energy security.

With that great significance, I call on agencies, units, political and social organizations and each person in the commune to actively respond to the Program on economical and efficient use of energy with the slogan "Saving energy is saving family budget and national resources.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee launched the "Electricity Saving Family" competition in Chau Quang commune; taking place until the end of November 2020 with many valuable prizes. To achieve the "Electricity Saving Family" competition title, each household representing the hamlet must save at least 10% of the total electricity consumption compared to the same period in 2019.

The results will be voted by Quy Hop District Electricity according to many criteria, then announced and awarded after the competition and will select 5 households with excellent results and 5 typical households.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee organized a Q&A session with the audience about safe and effective energy saving; the hamlet chiefs representing households in Chau Quang commune also signed a commitment to implement the program in response to the "Family Saving Electricity" contest.
