Speaking at the launching ceremony, Comrade Nguyen Van Thuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Health - affirmed the important role of population work in the sustainable development of the nation and people. Population work is a strategic task, both urgent and long-term; it is the undertaking of the entire Party and the entire people.
Over the past period, thanks to the attention and guidance of Party committees, government agencies, and mass organizations at all levels, population work in general, and the annual National Action Month on Population in particular, has achieved many remarkable results.

As a result, the rapid population growth rate has been largely controlled, the quality of the population has been improved; the model of smaller families has become the norm, spreading and deeply ingrained throughout society; and awareness of the meaning and importance of population and development work has been increasingly enhanced.
These significant results have contributed considerably to the socio-economic development achievements of the province. At the same time, they demonstrate the profound understanding and implementation of Resolution 21 of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam on population work in the new context.

However, despite the achievements, population work in the province still faces many difficulties and challenges. This necessitates a clearer understanding of the importance of effectively implementing current population work.
In particular, effective implementation is crucial.National Population Action Month 2024With the theme: "Improving the quality of the population for a prosperous country and happy families," these are positive activities to successfully achieve the goals and tasks in 2024 and to lay the groundwork and create momentum for the following years.

To address the challenges of population work throughout Nghe An province and in response to the theme of the 2024 National Action Month on Population, the Department of Health leadership proposes that localities and relevant departments strengthen Party leadership and government resource investment in population work. Population work should be made a central focus in the leadership and guidance of Party committees and governments at all levels.
At the same time, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of communication and education, promote self-awareness, voluntariness, and mutual supervision among the community; and uphold the exemplary role of each official and Party member in building culturally advanced families, villages, hamlets, and units.

In addition, it is necessary to effectively implement intervention solutions to improve the quality of the population; proactively adjust the population growth rate, control the rate of increase in the sex ratio at birth; and propose solutions to leverage the advantages of the "golden population" structure and respond to "population aging".
Speaking at the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Population Department - Ministry of Health, Hoang Thi Thom, highly appreciated the achievements that Nghe An province's population work has made in recent years. She also expressed empathy and shared understanding of the difficulties and challenges facing the province in the current context. As a province with a large land area and a large population, while the whole country has reached replacement fertility levels, Nghe An remains one of the provinces with a high birth rate; the rate of having a third child or more is still high.

Deputy Director Hoang Thi Thuong also emphasized the significance of the "National Action Month on Population" and viewed it as an opportunity to raise awareness and promote the responsibility of all levels of government, organizations, social groups, individual families, and the entire society towards the sustainable development of the country.

The National Action Month on Population and Vietnam Population Day in 2024 is also an opportunity to continue focusing on disseminating information about the purpose, significance, importance, and effectiveness of implementing services to improve population quality. It aims to effectively organize activities to promote, educate, and provide reproductive health and family planning services to improve population quality.
