Nghe An launches 'Month of action for food safety' in 2024
(Baonghean.vn) - The 2024 Food Safety Action Month has the theme "Continuing to ensure food security and safety in the new situation"; taking place from April 15, 2024 to May 15.
On the evening of April 17, in Vinh city, the Food Safety Steering Committee of Nghe An province coordinated with the People's Committee of Vinh city to organize the launching ceremony of "Month of action for food safety" in 2024 and inaugurated the "Street with food safety control" - the extended Le Mao street, Vinh Tan ward.
Attending the launching ceremony were Mr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Food Safety Steering Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, branches and sectors; representatives of leaders of 21 districts, cities and towns; medical units and food production, processing and trading establishments in Vinh city.
The 2024 “Food Safety Action Month” has the theme “Continuing to ensure food security and safety in the new situation”; taking place from April 15, 2024 to May 15. During the 2024 Food Safety Action Month, Nghe An will organize many activities to raise awareness, identify responsibilities and actions of Party committees, Party organizations, cadres, Party members and people in ensuring food security and safety; creating a strong change in awareness and practice of ensuring food safety for food production, processing and trading establishments and consumers.
Launching the "Month of action for food safety" in 2024, the Food Safety Steering Committee of Nghe An province requested departments, branches, sectors; socio-political organizations; People's Committees of districts, towns and Vinh city to seriously implement Plan 167-KH/TU dated March 14, 2023 of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee on implementing Directive No. 17-CT/TW dated October 21, 2022 of the Secretariat on strengthening food security and safety in the new situation in Nghe An province.
Continue to strengthen propaganda, education, raise awareness, responsibility and action of Party committees, Party organizations, authorities and people in ensuring food security and safety; strengthen inspection, examination and supervision of food security and safety work; resolutely fight, prevent and strictly handle organizations, individuals, production and business establishments that violate regulations on food security and safety.
Promote the development of safe agricultural production areas, form and develop clean and organic agricultural chains; promote the application of information technology in food safety management; strengthen food poisoning prevention.
At the launching ceremony of the “Month of action for food safety” in 2024, the People's Committee of Vinh City and the People's Committee of Vinh Tan Ward held the opening ceremony of the “Food safety controlled street” on the extended Le Mao street. This is the second food safety controlled street model to be built in Vinh City.
The construction of the street not only contributes to raising awareness and responsibility of food service and street food businesses in ensuring food safety and health for consumers, but also forms a new civilization in managing commercial activities, contributing to promoting economic, social and tourism development in the locality./.
