In recent years, despite many socio-economic difficulties, the Party Committee, government, and business community inside and outside the province have always paid attention, led, directed, and mobilized resources to effectively carry out the work of protecting, caring for, and educating children.
Thanks to that, children in the province in general and children in Quynh Luu district in particular are better cared for and educated, their basic rights are guaranteed; indicators on child protection, care and education are gradually specified in the socio-economic development strategy of the province;
However, in addition to the achieved results, the work of protecting and caring for children in our province still has shortcomings. That is, there are still many children in special circumstances and children at risk of falling into special circumstances, malnutrition among children under 5 years old is still at a high level compared to the general rate of the whole country... Mobilizing resources in society for the cause of protecting, caring for and educating children has not met the requirements.

In particular, recently, there have been a series of child sexual abuse cases, causing much anger and confusion. In Nghe An, during the period 2011 - 2016, there were 77 child sexual abuse cases in the province.
Based on the above reality, the launching ceremony of the Month of Action for Children 2017 was carried out with the theme: Implementing the Law on Children and preventing and combating violence and child abuse. The main purpose is to strengthen and further enhance the awareness and responsibility of all levels, sectors, agencies, units, families and the children themselves in implementing the Law on Children and preventing and combating violence and child abuse.
To effectively implement the activities, at the launching ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Minh Thong requested units from the province to the grassroots level to step up propaganda work to further enhance the responsibility of all levels, sectors, families, schools and society.
Strengthen inspection and examination of the implementation of children's rights, prevention of child abuse and injury, ensuring children live and develop in a safe and healthy environment.
