Although he had discovered an abnormality, a round, hard mass in the right scrotum of his penis for 2 years, but because he did not feel pain and saw the tumor growing slowly, patient Le Van N. (51 years old, living in Ha Tinh) was afraid to go to the doctor. Only when the size of the testicle became very large, causing weight loss, accompanied by many inconveniences in daily life and activities, along with severe abdominal pain, did the patient decide to go to the hospital in Nghe An for doctors to examine.

“Through examination, we discovered that patient N. had a large testicular tumor of about 20cm in size in the right scrotum. Because the patient had a disease in a sensitive area, the genitals, he was afraid to go to the doctor, and the tumor had developed over a long period of time to a rare level. We determined that surgical removal of the tumor was the only radical treatment solution and needed to be performed as soon as possible. Therefore, the team performed a resection of the ipsilateral testicular tumor and a pelvic lymph node dissection,” said Master Le Huy Ngoc, the doctor who directly treated and operated on the patient.

After the tumor removal surgery, the patient was regularly examined. Currently, patient N.'s health is completely stable. The decision to remove the tumor after 2 years of living with it has helped the patient improve his quality of life and return to normal activities.

Dr. Le Huy Ngoc recommends: To prevent and detect testicular cancer early, men should examine their testicles daily. If an unusual hard mass appears in the testicle, they should see a urologist or andrologist for early diagnosis and intervention.

In fact, most men are reluctant to undergo health screening, so the disease is often detected at a late stage. Some cases of undescended testicles have turned into cancer, making treatment more complicated./.
