Nghe An issues telegram to respond to new storm in East Sea
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 20, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Nghe An province issued a telegram on responding to storm Saudel.
The content of the telegram is as follows:
This morning (October 20),The tropical depression has strengthened into a storm.(international name is Saudel). At 1:00 p.m. on October 20, the center of the storm was located at about 15.8 degrees North latitude; 123.4 degrees East longitude, about 220km east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 8, gusting to level 10.

It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move in a West-Northwest direction, traveling 20-25km per hour, entering the East Sea and is likely to strengthen.
To proactively respond to the storm, the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue of Nghe An province requests the Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue of coastal districts: Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Nghi Loc, Hoang Mai Town, Cua Lo Town; Provincial Military Command; Provincial Border Guard Command, Provincial Police, Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control - Search and Rescue of the departments: Natural Resources and Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, Information and Communications, Transport, Health; Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper, Ben Thuy Coastal Information Station and related units.implement the following contents:
1. Strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 29/CD-TWPCTT dated October 19, 2020 of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue; Official Dispatch No. 30/CD-TW dated October 20, 2020 of the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control - Office of the National Committee for Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue.
2. Closely monitor the storm's developments, organize a ship count, notify vehicle owners and captains of ships and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm so that they can proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas.
Dangerous areas due to storms in the East Sea in the next 24 hours (strong winds of level 6 or higher, gusts of level 8 or higher):from latitude 14.5 to 18.0 degrees North; from longitude 116.0 to 120.0 degrees East.
3. Provincial Radio and Television Station, Nghe An Newspaper and mass media increase broadcasting time, report on the developments of the storm and strong winds at sea so that authorities at all levels, owners of means of transport operating at sea and people know and proactively take precautions.
4. Organize a 24/7 on-duty team, regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control when there are unexpected situations for timely handling./.
