Nghe An launched inspections and fined nearly 600 million VND for overloaded vehicles
(Baonghean.vn) - Implementing the plan to launch a peak period of inspection of overloaded vehicles of the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport, from November 9 to December 9, 2021, Nghe An Department of Transport has established teams to conduct inspections on roads.
According to information from the inspection team, after nearly 20 days of deploymentpeak time for checking overloaded vehicles, from November 9 to November 28,Inspector of Nghe An Department of Transportchecked and recorded 109 cases, of which 47 were errors by the vehicle owner, 27 were errors of arbitrarily changing the size of the vehicle body, 1 was error of not having a truck badge, 3 were errors of overloading from 50% to 100%, 4 were errors of overloading from 30% to 50%, 13 were errors of overloading from 10% to 30%, 3 were errors of overloading from 10% to 20%, and 5 were errors of height.

Based on the inspection, the inspection team drew up a record, imposed a fine of VND595.7 million, revoked the driver's license for 2 months in 14 cases, revoked the badge in 12 cases, revoked the inspection stamp in 25 cases, and forced the truck's body to be cut in 27 cases.

Mr. Ha Tien Son - Head of the Inspection Team, Nghe An Department of Transport said: The reason why the Inspectorate of the Ministry of Transport had to direct and launch a peak period to inspect overloaded vehicles is because aftercovid-19 epidemic temporarily subsidedand the whole country moved to a new state of adaptation, freight transport services showed signs of complexity when the situation of overloaded vehicles tended to increase, many vehicles were re-truck bed extensionor load violations recur and affect traffic infrastructure.

Through this peak period, in addition to checking and handling violations at key points, Nghe An Traffic Inspectorate is proposing that the General Department of Roads integrate load control sensors into the journey monitoring equipment set, and reorganize the Mobile Weighing Station model so that localities can serve as a basis for synchronous and effective implementation of solutions to check and monitor overloaded vehicles.

Previously, based on the implementation of the annual plan, from the beginning of 2021 to present, Nghe An Traffic Inspectorate has inspected and fined 454 organizations and individuals for violating regulations on transporting oversized, overloaded goods, vehicle size, and cargo bed with a fine of 3.2 billion VND; revoked licenses, practice certificates, and vehicle papers for 425 violating individuals and organizations;cut into, bodyfor 75 vehicles.

Similarly, at the same time, the Road Administration Department II established 27 teams to inspect traffic routes in Nghe An, detected and handled 174 violations, fined 1.113 billion VND, revoked driving licenses and inspection certificates for 25 cases. The representative of the Road Administration Department II also said that the Department's inspection teams are currently continuously inspecting and monitoring from now until the end of the year./.
