Also attending were representatives of Nghe An Provincial Police, Department of Foreign Affairs, leaders of high schools and study abroad companies in Nghe An province.
According to the Department of Education and Training, there are currently 30 units that have been granted certificates for study abroad consulting activities by the Department of Education and Training. In 2016, these companies sent 361 students to study abroad, mainly in 6 countries: Japan, Korea, Australia, Thailand, Canada and Germany. Of these, 42 students were sent on scholarships.

Although study abroad companies have stabilized, the effectiveness has not been as expected when only about 50% of Nghe An students study abroad through companies in the province. In addition, there are still units operating illegally; organizing consulting activities and recruiting students to study abroad without permission from the authorities.
The situation of students studying abroad but dropping out of school still occurs, affecting the image of Vietnamese students abroad. In 2015 - 2016, the Department of Education and Training revoked the licenses of 9 units that did not meet the operating conditions according to regulations.
Faced with this reality, many opinions were given at the conference. Many opinions said that study abroad companies need to clearly publicize their study abroad services in order to compete fairly. In addition, it is necessary to strengthen the review, inspection and examination of organizations providing consulting services in the area, ensuring that study abroad consulting services are conducted in accordance with the law; it is necessary to immediately suspend the activities of violating units.
On the other hand, it is necessary to strengthen orientation training for students before they go to study abroad, strengthen vocational training and encourage companies to seek scholarships for students.
According to the synthesis of Nghe An Provincial Police, in recent years, the Provincial Police have prosecuted 5 cases, arrested 12 suspects related to study abroad fraud. In study abroad activities, there have been many unhealthy activities with signs of violating the law. |
