Nghe An shortens the national Lotus Village Festival program to prevent and fight Covid-19

The People's Committee of Nghe An province has just issued an urgent dispatch adjusting the plan for organizing activities to celebrate the 130th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2020). This new plan has shortened many activities in the ceremony and festival parts of this special political and cultural event.

Specifically, the opening and closing ceremonies of the Sen Village Festival will not be held, nor will the parade from Ho Chi Minh Square (Vinh City) to Uncle Ho's hometown (Kim Lien, Nam Dan), and the procession of Uncle Ho's portraits through the ages from his maternal hometown to his paternal hometown will not be held.

Conferences, competitions, the National Sen Village Singing Festival, book promotion; photo exhibitions of ASEAN countries and people; exhibitions, film weeks about Uncle Ho as well as mass art tours will also not be implemented as previously planned.

In addition, the organizing committee also decided to postpone the National A-Class Volleyball Tournament and activities connecting travel businesses to bring tourists to Nghe An at the appropriate time of the year.

Thus, the 2020 National Lotus Village Festival program only includes flower offering activities at the Uncle Ho statue in Ho Chi Minh Square, incense offering and flower offering to report to Uncle Ho at Kim Lien Relic Site; large-scale propaganda painting exhibition.

To prepare for this important political and cultural activity, Nghe An province will issue a number of cultural publications, coordinate with the National Library Department to compile, print and issue documents about President Ho Chi Minh.

Although shortened, the organization of activities must ensure sacredness, respect, solemnity and practicality; to express the respect and gratitude of the people of the whole country to President Ho Chi Minh - National Liberation Hero, outstanding cultural celebrity; to propagate and educate Ho Chi Minh's ideology; to promote the image of Nghe An to the whole country and international friends./.
