Nghe An: Hydropower plant output reaches 2.2 billion kWh/year

(Baonghean.vn) - According to the report of the Department of Industry and Trade, the average electricity output of hydroelectric plants in Nghe An reaches 2.2 billion kWh/year.

In Nghe An province, there are 32 projects with a scale of 1,372.45 MW, including 6 projects with a capacity of 736 MW under the National Power Development Plan approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 110/2007/ and hydropower projects under the National Small Hydropower Plan approved by the Ministry of Industry (now the Ministry of Industry and Trade) in Decision No. 3454/QD-BCN dated October 18, 2005.

Up to now, Nghe An has 10 hydropower projects that have come into operation and generated electricity to the national grid, with a total investment of more than 18,300 billion VND, a total capacity of 697.5 MW, and an average annual electricity output of more than 2.2 billion kWh.

Several other projects are in the investment process.

The projects that have come into operation have created stable jobs for nearly 600 local workers such as Ban Ve Hydropower Plant, Hua Na Hydropower Plant, Khe Bo Hydropower Plant, contributing an average of more than 200 billion VND to the budget each year and nearly 40 billion VND in reforestation funds and forest environmental services.
