Nghe An: Aquatic product output in the first quarter increased by 19%

(Baonghean.vn) - Since the beginning of the year, seafood production has been favorable, fishermen have had a good harvest in both output and price.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total seafood output reached 33,329 tons, of which 27,399 tons were exploited and nearly 6,000 tons were farmed, an increase of 19% over the same period in 2016. The average income of fishermen has been increased, especially the newly built fleet according to Decree 67/CP, with an average income of 250 million VND/ship per trip, and a profit of 100 million VND.

Implementing Decree 67/CP, the whole province has 69 ships (04 composite hull ships, 8 steel hull ships, 57 wooden hull ships) whose ship owners have signed credit contracts, disbursing 557 billion VND, reaching more than 97% of signed contracts.

Previously, 60 vessels (3 composite hull vessels, 8 steel hull vessels, 49 wooden hull vessels) had been completed and put into fishing operations. Of these, 23 were for casting, 13 were for trawling; 22 were for purse seine and 2 were for logistics services. Most of the vessels participating in seafood exploitation achieved high efficiency.

Mr. Hoang Nghia Hieu - Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said that the total number of fishing vessels in the province is 3,923 with a total capacity of nearly 5.70 CV. And currently the Department is directing to accelerate the implementation of Decree No. 67 according to Resolution No. 113/NQ-CP dated December 31, 2016, checking and reviewing the list of ship owners approved to approach commercial banks to complete credit loan procedures. In particular, Quynh Luu district still has 22 ship owners who have not signed credit contracts, requesting the State Bank to direct commercial banks to accelerate the signing of credit contracts and disbursement to the remaining ship owners./.
