Nghe An: Ready to supply goods according to 5 levels of the epidemic

Mr. Cao Minh Tu - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: "To proactively take measures to respond to the epidemic, limit the impacts on supply - demand, and prices of goods when the Covid-19 epidemic is complicated,The Department has developed a combat plan and epidemic response scenarios at 5 levels.Specifically. Accordingly, ensuring the supply of goods when people's demand increases suddenly, as well as when many localities in the province have to be isolated".

Based on the assessment of population, demand and consumption habits, and characteristics of the distribution system in the province, the Department of Industry and Trade has developed a scenario for supplying goods according to 5 levels of the epidemic. Specifically:

Level 1: There is an epidemic case in the province and 01 quarantine area appears in the ward, commune, or town with 200 people in the quarantine area and 1,500 people quarantined at their place of residence for 28 days.

Level 2: When the epidemic has secondary infections in the province, many quarantine areas appear.

Level 3: The province has from 20 to 1,000 cases or more and many quarantine areas in districts, cities, and towns.

Level 4: There are over 1,000 - 3,000 cases in the province, 21 districts, cities and towns have quarantine areas.

Level 5: There are over 3,000 - 30,000 cases of the disease in the province, putting about 1 million people in Nghe An province at high risk of infection (accounting for 1/3 of the province's population); people in the area only leave their homes to buy necessities.

Business warehouses are constantly replenishing their stock.

At levels 1, 2, and 3, businesses will regulate and circulate goods to avoid shortages. For levels 4 and 5, the Department will focus on directing distribution businesses to concentrate all their goods; open more warehouses and points of sale in localities, and if necessary, set up more field warehouses.

In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade proactively cooperates with businesses to contact other provinces and cities to bring goods to Nghe An to serve the people in the shortest time. At the same time, report to the province to add cargo vehicles from the Police and the Army to support theEnterprises bring goods from provinces to Nghe An, from warehouses to distribution systems and limit the amount of goods sold to each individual customer when the epidemic is widespread. Please mobilize other forces to support when necessary, ensuring adequate supply for the needs of the people and isolated areas.

On the business side, Ms. Vo Thi Thao - Deputy Director of a company in Vinh City, said: "Business warehouses have increased the stock of essential goods by about 3 times, promptly supplying Vinh City and districts in the province. In case the goods are consumed quickly, we will mobilize vehicles to transport continuously, in the shortest time to avoid shortages of goods."

Currently, supermarkets and food stores in Nghe An are still operating normally, with goods continuously being replenished on shelves to serve people's shopping needs. At the same time, strengtheningonline sales,home delivery, card payment to minimize contact and crowd gathering, contributing to slowing down the spread of the disease.

Mr. Dau Minh Khang - Head of the Management Board of Sen Market Shopping Center (Nam Dan) said: "Currently, the amount of goods here is very abundant, in recent days the demand for essential goods has increased slightly, prices are still stable. Currently, we are promoting online sales, ordering by phone, free home delivery to reduce the number of people coming to buy directly at the center".

Currently, under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Vinh City is implementingsocial distancing according to Directive 16From 00:00 on June 19, Dien Chau implemented social distancing according to Directive 15. Accordingly, traditional markets, supermarkets, and stores selling essential goods are still open to serve ordinary people. Therefore, people should not panic, worry, or rush to buy and hoard goods, disrupting the market and increasing the risk of spreading the epidemic due to large gatherings.

Currently, the Department of Industry and Trade has made a specific assessment of the exploitation, storage and supply of essential goods in the province. Specifically, for the food group, it is expected to meet the demand, including: The total average rice consumption demand of the whole province is about 16,000 tons/month (average individual consumption is 05kg/person/month). The amount of rice currently available at distribution facilities is expected to be about 2,500 tons (mainly concentrated at Thanh Nghe Tinh Food Joint Stock Company, BigC supermarket, MM Mega market, Vinmart system, food stores, general stores, markets...), can import about 10,000 tons within 5-7 days. At the same time, households are self-sufficient in food and reserve an estimated 15,000 tons.

For fresh food groups: Livestock, poultry and seafood groups: The total average fresh food demand of the whole province is about 13,000 tons/month; Production output in the province can meet about: 38,330 tons (including 19,750 tons of livestock and poultry meat; 18,580 tons of various seafood, about 100,000 poultry eggs).

Green vegetable group of all kinds: Total average vegetable consumption demand is about 32,000 tons/month; Local output can meet about 39,947 tons/month.

For consumer technology products:Regarding demand (sugar, milk, fish sauce, seasoning powder, MSG, instant noodles; dry food; cooking oil; iodized salt), it is estimated at 9,000 tons/month. Currently, units can immediately supply about 500 tons of fish sauce; about 1,000 tons of cooking oil; about 250 tons of fresh milk; 200 tons of MSG; about 20 tons of instant noodles; and 5 tons of instant bread. For increased demand, it can be met by importing goods daily and the reserve can meet an increase of about 20-30% compared to demand when there is a fluctuation.

Accordingly, it can be affirmed that the supply of rice, vegetables, livestock meat, poultry, and poultry eggs in the province is currently very abundant, even surplus when the complicated developments of the Covid-19 epidemic make consumption difficult. In addition, essential goods such as: cooking oil, fish sauce, sugar, milk, medicine... in supermarkets, businesses, agents, and stores are abundant, diverse, and have stable prices.
